Германия вернула домой большую часть золотого запаса

Германия досрочно вернула из зарубежных хранилищ более половины государственного золотого запаса — около 1710 тонн. Об этом сообщил Бундесбанк (ЦБ Германии). По словам главы немецкого регулятора Карла-Людвига Тиле (Carl-Ludwig Thiele), программа репатриации части немецкого золота из иностранных хранилищ завершена досрочно. При этом почти половина золотых резервов ФРГ все еще остается в США и Великобритании: 1236 тонн в Нью-Йорке, 432 тонны — в Лондоне. Общий объем немецкого золотого запаса составляет 3378 тонн. Германия приняла программу возвращения своих резервов в 2013 году. Золотой запас Германии является вторым по объему в мире после американского. ФРГ начала закупать золото в 1951 году и предпочитала хранить его в хранилищах своих союзников по блоку НАТО — США, Франции и Великобритании. Власти Германии использовали запасы драгоценного металла как залог в случае соглашений с Федеральной резервной системой США.
