Prețul global al alimentelor a urcat cu 2,9% luna trecută

Cea mai mare creștere a prețului la produsele lactate înregistrată în ultimii șapte ani a făcut ca prețul global al produselor alimentare să atingă cel mai ridicat nivel din ultimele 18 luni, a anunțat joi Organizația Națiunilor Unite pentru Alimentație și Agricultură (FAO). FAO publică lunar propriul său Food Price Index, care măsoară modificările de prețuri înregistrate de un coș de alimente format din cereale, uleiuri vegetale, lactate, carne și zahăr. În luna septembrie 2016, acest indice a crescut cu 2,9% comparativ cu luna august, până la un nivel de 170,9 puncte. Prețul produselor lactate a crescut cu 14%, cel mai mare avans înregistrat după luna noiembrie 2009, în timp ce prețul zahărului a urcat cu 6,7%. Actuala creștere de prețuri se datorează așteptărilor potrivit cărora scăderea producției de lapte în Uniunea Europeană și un debut slab al anului agricol în Oceania vor duce la limitarea cantităților disponibile la export, după oferte în exces în ultimii doi ani, a subliniat FAO. Separat, FAO și-a îmbunătățit estimările privind recolta mondială de cereale în 2016-2017, prognozând o producție record de 2,569 miliarde tone, cu 1,5% sau trei milioane tone mai mare decât producția record înregistrată în 2015. Producția mondială de grâu ar urma să urce până la 742,4 milioane de tone, ca urmare a unor recolte peste așteptări în Rusia, SUA și India. În același timp, pentru prima dată în ultimii trei ani, producția mondială de orez ar urma să urce comparativ cu anul precedent, cu 1,3% până la 497,8 milioane tone, cel mai ridicat nivel înregistrat vreodată.
